LONG DEFINED

Took me quite a while to write this, I might sound opinionated, but I will speak my mind all the same.
I have had my share of colleagues who never saw any good in me at all. My last semester in Multimedia university of Kenya was not a smooth one (story for another day) and the last thing I needed at that time was someone telling me how bad my work was. This commenter went ahead and said I was not good in anything, speak of camera, editing, lighting, directing…even acting. She said, in not so many words…wewe ni muchene tu, na muchene haitakupatia doo! (You talk a lot, and talking a lot will never make you rich). These words pinched my core; I swallow hard every time I remember that particular incident. I took it in like a Kataro and moved on. Hearty outside yet hurting inside.  Little did I know that those words would haunt me for as long as they did. When I lost my job, these are the same word that kept repeating in my head and I almost went crazy trying to focus on God in the myriad of negativity around me and the voices in my head.
Looking back now and seeing all I have been able to achieve by the grace of God, I feel like going back in time and giving that Tracy a hot slap on the cheek and tell her…quit fretting stupid!

See ever since I started studying the bible consistently I have noticed a consistent sequence with God. His eyes see very differently from what a man normally would choose to see-negativity. It’s like our sight is allergic to positivity. Phew! Thank God he is not a man because if he were…boy oh boy! We would be in deep trouble.

When God looks at us, he does not see who we are not, he sees who we are, his creation created in his own image. He recalls with nostalgia how he had fun knitting you together in your mother’s womb. He smiles at the thought of how he efficiently mixed up our different traits and character to make us who we are today. Then he sat back and loving watched our life that he has planned out unfold bit by bit. He sees each tear that fall and wipes it away, he walks beside us in the tempests storm, he shields us from the scorching heat of the sun so that it does not scorch our skins. You don’t get burned when you pass through fire; you just feel the heat because he protectively covers you from the direct flames.

He is your greatest fan, fervently cheering you on, encouraging you to finish up the race. He calls you chosen - John 15:16, you did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit--fruit that will last--and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you
Free- Galatians 5:1, it is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

Forgiven-Psalm 103:12 “As far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.

Co-heirs with Christ, Romans 8:17, Now if we are children, then we are heirs--heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory

More than conquerors the apple of his eyes! The list is endless!!
When we were unable to go to him, he sent his love to us through Jesus. And all we ought to do is just believe, and we have life!

So sister doesn't matter how many time you've been called ugly, brother worry no more because of the times you have been called lazy, you were long defined by God! At the end of the day, Gods opinion is what really matters; after all we are to spend eternity with him!

Okay if this does not raise your esteem then I don’t know what will ever do!
