DELIVER US FROM THINKING.

I have a secret, well everyone does...I don't really know what my surname means; I just make up descriptions to suit me. I don’t know anything about world war, or what Hitler did and didn't do, I don't understand the significance of the statue of liberty, only that it is...well a statue. I mean why is the town symbol for Mombasa tusks...why didn’t they just make it, I don't know, the ocean? After all it covers most of the city anyway. The physics behind satellite signals and how fast the world got global still beats me. I still think mathematics is a subject specially used to punish writers like me...come on, find x in the following equation, and they go ahead to write this funny if not hilarious sum for me to solve...do you know how visualizing that was mind boggling for me!

See that's the thing with the human brain, it is always eager to learn more and understand more, like the grave, it is never satisfied. If people were awarded in life depending on how many questions they asked then I think no one would be poor, especially kids with their numerous adorable annoying “aunty Kwanini...?"
Thinking is good, very good, that's why man is the most intelligent 'animal' on earth. But you have to agree with me that it’s also our greatest weakness. See in the quest to find out more, explore more and pursue more...we end up filling our heads with so much...crap that we eventually lose track of the important things in life.

The simple good night, to a cute guy you have a crush on; that you couldn't send because you were busy THINKING how he would react. A boss who can't say thank you because he THINKS he deserves everything his junior does for him. A teenager who rebels against the mother because she THINKS the mother is out to make her life miserable and boring. The hooting motorist  in traffic jams who THINK his appointment is more important than the others, the over speeding matatu driver who hit a school kid because he was THINKING of how to make a few extra trips.... thinking, thinking, thinking...it’s all we do really!

Like I said thinking is good, but we have to stop and think before we THINK...if you know what I mean...
I almost got hit by a car, and I was at fault...why? I was trying to figure out what Kayoro means since I was on my way to met Faith, whose name has a distinguished meaning, a friend who shared a name with my teddy bear, which is not a bear but a Mickey Mouse and I was headed   towards Moi Avenue which was named after the longest serving Kenyan president.....Yeeiks! All that going on the head at the same time...
See what I mean, sub consciously we let our brains take over...
It doesn't matter what the statue of liberty is, or who Hitler is, he is dead anyway and chances are a third world war will never come, and what does it matter what  Mombasa chooses to make their  town symbol out of, they could even choose a fish really! Sometime shutting our brains with all its curiosity and knowledge thirst and for once appreciate the small things that don't require thinking yet make life worthwhile. Like a baby’s laugh
