BEYOND THE DESERT.
When I pass
through the desert
You will be
at the end waiting for me
When I get
lonely, it because you need my full attention
To instruct,
to discipline and to teach me
You use my
fears to build my courage
My reluctance
to draw me near to you
My shortcomings
to make me stronger
My weakness
to display you power
My inadequacy
to show your richness
My lack of
eloquence to show your perfect diction
My unbelief
to show your faith in mankind
My shakiness
to display your stability
My age to
show your everlasting nature
My sin to
show your mercy
If I were
never discouraged
I would not
know your comfort
If I never
lacked
I would
never know you Jehovah jire
If I never
got angry I wouldn't know you Jehovah shalom
You use all
my emotions to make me understand you more
I had to be
dumped and heart broken
To know how
you feel when I turn away from you
I had to
love so to know how you love
In my brokenness
you are my potter
You help me
see beyond the negative
Beyond the
tears I cried, beyond your scars incurred for my sin
Beyond the
desert and all dryness.
