8 Things about August

August was a good month!

Hello peeps, this post was meant to go up by the end of August...but my 8-5 had other plans...

Let's just get into it: 8 things from August.

1. First off, my birthday was lit! Well, I didn't throw myself an all pink party or anything, but I did get to eat the largest, sweetest and reddest red velvet cake ever and I also got a very sentimental gift that I will not talk about today. Also this birthday happened in July…one of those experiences you take time to bask and glory in before you share with the world.

2. After recently embracing myself as a creative department oriented person of course publicly declaring I am up for every manner of hate and love in equal measure not forgetting over exploitation at minimal wage. I have started bracing myself for some statements like

       - You are not creative enough, too boring, make it longer, make it shorter, add more color,    yada yada  yada....!

Don't get me wrong I love feedback, positive negative...bring it on...I just hate how miserable the feedback make me feel at times- but I always get over it!

3. Also we have to agree computers have feelings...ever notice they start misbehaving when deadlines are seconds away...woe to you if (Ctrl+s) or (cmd+s) is not your friend. I also notice not everyone will get that latter bit...but oh well!

4. It gets hard for a creative to date as well, probably why I am still single...or not(when God is in the mix it's hard to tell) Imagine being on a date with someone who doesn't get that reflection on the coffee table exposed to some beautiful lighting will produce a mind blowing shot! I mean I am not one of those people who take selfies with my food but can we just talk about how the beautiful the shot can turn out?

5. Watching movies sometimes become a lecture. It’s hard not to talk about how amazing the intercutting was (or at least notice it) Issue is when you are trying to be romantic and decide to watch a romantic movie with bae... I would probably be taken in by how strategic the moon was placed between their faces just before they kissed than the kiss itself...

6. I still don't get why brilliant ideas come at wee hours...makes me feel like I should update my salutation: Hi my name is Troka and I am sleep deprived... Honestly though are all creatives nocturnal or it's just me?

7. I recently watched a movie called beauty in brokenness...or something close to that. I relate to it so much not just because of the execution in terms of production but also ...these two broken people found each other and love happened...aaaw!

Also because my greatest muse is brokenness, broken people, things, situations… really bring out my creativity…go figure!

8. Last but not least, every creative has a style, a niche and different source of inspiration. Trying to make creatives change their style is a violation of their right. If you cant be nice, scroll on! Also, pay creatives…hoarding their money is our greatest version of evil! Unless of course we don’t deliver…technically this only happens 0.05% of the time!

9. Yeah I know the title says 8… this is a September bonus! To all creatives… never stop learning!
