I CHOOSE...
If there is anything death has taught me is appreciate every minute you get to spend with people you love- allow me not to elaborate further because if i do i will dilute the solemness of those words…
This poem appreciates the small things in life that we rarely notice in the character of those we love… in the end the little things carry more weight than we could ever perceive.
This is for you Hun!
I choose
Your looks matter not, nor your voice
I wouldn't care so much of how fluent
Or how articulate you would sound
Sure you groom well, but rarely would I dwell there
Sure I do love your looks
And I smile contentedly when others notice
For i know you have eyes for only me
But that wouldn't make me love you either
Your height and your color mean nothing to me
I would bother to find out how big your wallet is
and i care less about the number and the weight of your certificate
all tis are important… very important
but they are not why i choose you
I choose to love you because of how the corners of eyes wrinkle up when you smile
I choose to love you because i cant get enough of that huge gap between your teeth
I choose to love you because of how horrible you sing
I choose to love your innocence
I choose to to love how you look at me with eager eyes full of love
I choose to love how you break tire up when you speak of your failures
I choose to love how ridiculously tiny you are
I chose to love you because of how reserved you are
I choose to love you because of who you make me see myself
I choose to love you because of all your tiny flaws
Because at the end of the day it wont be counted if i love you for your good sides
But rather it will be remembered i loved you despite your flaws
So i choose to love you

Great. Just great. If only we could strive to tell this daily to our loved ones. If only we could stop thinking of how we would be looked at. If only we stopped being shy. If only we had the consistency to pass this on.
