THE MESSAGER

He wore no fancy suit; he slept not in a royal suite
Yet he talked of a higher royalty.
Whose sandals be was no worthy enough to untie.
 Survived on insects and insights.
Speaking wisdom and truth into lost and dissolution hearts.
Sent to prepare the way with nothing but his voice!
Of great importance yet he considered himself least
Camel skin as his only covering
Ha! He must have looked funny!
Spoken of, years before he, suppressed people’s expectations
A people who expected thunder, lightning and a rumbling voice
Not some humble being with a loud persuasive voice.
Talking about someone he had not seen
With constant disapproval from religious fanatics
Who knew the truth but choose to disregard
Because they saw truth in lie, and lies in truth
Hence missed to see the truth, God in form of a man.
With boldness he spoke of someone better
Someone who would baptize not just with water but spirit.
He finally landed in prison
A lunatic speaking gibberish and blasphemy...so they said.
Even so he didn't stop speaking
Eventually his side lined analogy came to pass
Lots heard it but few listened, lots saw it, but few perceived

But still his assignment he completed

inspired by John chapter one!
