HOW I IMAGINE LOVE SHOULD BE.

A long stretch of green occasionally broken by brown and scattered bright yellow, red and green. A butterfly gracefully landing on a yellow then then the red and moves on to all. Curiously I reach the nearest red and gaze around it wanting what the butterfly got, but alas! The scent hit me, the smell of beautiful summer winter weather. (Actually that’s my own invented season because where I come from you can experience both at the same time)A cold wind blows my cheeks causing a rhythmic whistle from the tall pine trees and my legs do that thing ballet dancers do and before I know it am moving around, twirling, dancing to its tune. I step on a soft ground my slippers becoming wet, looking down one of my foot is covered by brown water from a small paddle. For the first time I notice the shadow cast by the sun blocked with my opaque self. I squint as I look up, wowed by the sight of beautiful rays of sun passing through the tall pine trees surrounding the meadow. Then I notice between two trees where their jade leaves meet, a shape… is that a …? I use my right hand as a visor and there clearly was the shape of a heart, perfect! Or if you wish an art not done by mortal hands. The melody of the wind, dry  leaves rustling as I step on them , the weaver birds singing as they weave, the wind as it whistles about is a combination that ought to have won an Oscar like yesterday. With a leap, a trot and a jump, hands outstretched in a carefree manner, I danced around singing a song only heaven knows. Carefree spinning, dancing in my slippers that have seen better days, with a heart as harmless as a coiled rattle snake, a thousand watt smile plastered on my face, what I know is I never want to leave this place ever. And that’s how I imagine love should be.
